Sunshine.

It was gorgeous outside today.

Yes, I am as disappointed as everyone else about the lack of snow this winter season.  However, with days as gorgeous as these — how can you be upset about the weather?

It isn’t an “ice day”.  It isn’t a huricane.  It isn’t a bunch of tornadoes.  It isn’t freezing.

It’s sunny.  It’s lovely.

I’m not going to whine about it anymore.  Time to enjoy it.

I have a lifetime of snow ahead of me.

Strong is the new skinny.

Time to get off the couch and blast some muscles.

You know you’re achieving fitness goals when your friends challenge you to carry your boyfriend.  Then you one-up them by doing calf raises at the same time.

Strong is the new skinny.  My new perspective on fitness.

internal-acceptance-movement:

You wouldn’t treat a friend the way you treat yourself…
You wouldn’t tell a friend to punish themselves by not eating breakfast because they ate dinner the previous night.
You wouldn’t like a friend any less because they gained a pound or two.
You wouldn’t tell a friend that they have no self-worth because they cannot fit into a pair of size 0 jeans.
You wouldn’t call a friend “fat” for eating dessert.
And you certainly wouldn’t think of a friend as “selfish” for asserting their needs and practicing self-care.
So why then, do you treat yourself that way?
Why are you the exception?
Why do these codes of conduct apply to others but not you?
What makes you so different that you feel you don’t deserve to be treated with the same compassion and kindness that you give so freely to everyone else?
There’s no rule that excludes you from deserving that love.
Except the one you’ve created for yourself.
It’s time for your rule be broken.
It’s time to turn the love you have for others inward.
It’s time to make peace with your body.
And it’s time to start treating yourself as a friend.
You deserve the same amount of nourishment, respect, love, and care as every other human being who walks this earth.
You are not an exception.
Not today, not ever.

Discovering Sacramento.

I am waiting for my car in quite possibly one of the cutest coffee shops in Sacramento.

Around the corner from one of the hippest Volkswagen repair garages ever.

I’m sipping on one of the most complex, locally roasted coffees in town.

I’m eating one of the moost delicious grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve tried (Cowgirl Creamery grilled cheese included).

Oh how I LOVE discovering hidden gems.

Steak salad.

Note to self: never order this dish from a bar again.

Sweats and a painful tummy aren’t a good sign. Don’t mind me when I start running to the toilet.
