Feeling sick.
I need to rest. And eat. And take vitamins.
And cuddle Simon.
One more day of work…

Taxes?
DONE!
I had no idea that it was so easy to file online. And so much cheaper than dealing with the tax lady! $100+ appointment cancelled, biatch!
And I’m expecting a pretty fantastic refund in return. Finally — something to get me out of this hole of never seeing my paycheck. All of those student loans that have been taking my little checks are finally giving back.
I’m...
Dear Tax Lady.
I meet with you on Tuesday. Please get me a big, sexy refund.
That would be absolutely fabulous.
Sincerely,
Avery

Six days of work.
Coffee? Check.
I have bills to pay. Let’s do this.
New thangs.
New things that I am currently raving about:
U-Jam Fitness and the Stocktonian instructor who teaches it
Muscle Blast (no, not new, but I’m loving the friends I’m making)
MyFitnessPal app and website (add me! username: averygh)
My boyfriend’s wonderful support for my new diet
My new slimming belt
Simon’s cuddles (still not new, but I still rave about Simon)
This...

Counting.
I finally started counting calories.
It’s depressing.
This whole time I thought my eating habits were okay. It woke me up. But it’s really hard to stay interested when I have to let go of some of my addictions… (nachos, burgers, burritos…)
Someone keep me motivated. Please!

Work.
8 birthday cakes in two hours. Saturdays still overwhelm me.
Well… That’s what coffee is for.

Passive Agression Toward the Self →
psychotherapy:
via Psychology Today:
Are you—unawares—a mental and emotional masochist?
In self-sabotage you “act out” internal conflicts by first moving toward a goal—then retreating from it. “I can do it” is offset by “I can’t do it.” “I want it” is overridden by “No, I don’t want it.” “I deserve it” countermanded by “I don’t deserve it.” The net result of such an ambivalent—or...
I hate flossing.
And still hate it. Despite all the things the dentists have told me. Despite all the cavities I’ve gotten filled.
And tomorrow — I pay for it. I have an appointment with the dental hygienist for those awful deep cleanings.
During my last dental exam, my dentist said, “Since you’ve been so bad at flossing, you’re now approaching a stage where it’s getting...

Couples appreciation day.
We are celebrating our fourth Valentine’s Day this year.
For those of you who are bitter this time of year. I guess I can see why.
But don’t give any of us grief for having an established day to celebrate our relationship. We celebrate our love everyday, but Valentine’s Day is the day we can be mushy in public without offending hundreds of people.
And if you want to be...

Sunshine.
It was gorgeous outside today.
Yes, I am as disappointed as everyone else about the lack of snow this winter season. However, with days as gorgeous as these — how can you be upset about the weather?
It isn’t an “ice day”. It isn’t a huricane. It isn’t a bunch of tornadoes. It isn’t freezing.
It’s sunny. It’s lovely.
I’m not going...

Strong is the new skinny.
Time to get off the couch and blast some muscles.
You know you’re achieving fitness goals when your friends challenge you to carry your boyfriend. Then you one-up them by doing calf raises at the same time.
Strong is the new skinny. My new perspective on fitness.

Discovering Sacramento.
I am waiting for my car in quite possibly one of the cutest coffee shops in Sacramento.
Around the corner from one of the hippest Volkswagen repair garages ever.
I’m sipping on one of the most complex, locally roasted coffees in town.
I’m eating one of the moost delicious grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve tried (Cowgirl Creamery grilled cheese included).
Oh how I LOVE...
Work week.
Done! 6th day done.
Now for two days off.
Most likely to include lots of Law and Order SVU…
and skinny margaritas.
Oh, and Simon. Duh.
Steak salad.
Note to self: never order this dish from a bar again.
Sweats and a painful tummy aren’t a good sign. Don’t mind me when I start running to the toilet.

Breakfast.
I was craving sugar cookies for breakfast.
So I made some.
Ugh… way to have control on my carb intake.
