Surgery.
I just had my consultation with the oral surgeon today. I scheduled the surgery for my wisdom teeth. February 7th — one week from day. Holy crap. It’s so soon. I could have made it a lot later in the month, but they’re coming out anyway. I might as well get it out of the way… =/ I’ve never had surgery before — I’M NERVOUS!
On a less anxious note,...
Lake Tahoe.
The way I feel about this place is definitely sitting on a very wobbly line between love and hate.
I love the serenity of the mountains. I’ve never lived in an area this peaceful — this relaxing. So many trees, so many mountains. It’s so simple out here. No city noise or “hustle and bustle”.
I love how my surroundings push me out of the comfort of my apartment....
Mexican trailer park.
To the Mexican trailer park neighboring my apartment complex:
I know it’s a Saturday night, but your music is very loud and has been playing since 2 this afternoon. Also — you seem to party about three or four times a week.
Now… I am NOT opposed to a party, but I think it’s important to respect your neighbors.
So, please!
Either invite me to your party or quiet down...
Upgrade.
It’s time to upgrade my gear. My cheap Big 5 snowboard boots have cuts and holes in them… only three years after I bought it. (Boo.) As advice for those of you buying your first board, pay the extra 50 bucks to get a reliable brand.
All of this practice for Operation Turkey Carving has been wonderful, but it has been taking a toll on my cheapo boots. The holes make them too cold...
Wisdom tooth.
I’ve never gotten them pulled out. The pain used to hang around for a couple days every month. But now — it’s been hurting for two weeks. My bottom left has grown in halfway. Half of it is out, the other half is covered in gum. It’s been like this for a year and a half.
I think I have to get it pulled.

It’s time to move on.
I have bigger dreams than this. I know that I have the talent and creativity to get me there. But here, I am forgotten and shoved to the side. I’m kept around because my personality interacts well with hotel guests — not because of any culinary or baking skill. I’ve been given less real work and more bitch work.
